For mobile dog groomers

An AI receptionist for your mobile grooming business.

A mobile grooming day leaves few good moments to answer the phone. You might be handling a nervous dog, cleaning between appointments or driving to the next stop. Spikey AI can answer calls forwarded from your business line and collect a request for you to review when it is safe to respond.

Keep your familiar business number

Customers can keep calling the number they already know. After activating your dedicated Spikey number, set up conditional forwarding with your phone provider so unanswered calls reach your AI assistant. Your business phone can still ring first.

Forwarding depends on your particular carrier and service. Test it from another phone before relying on it during a working day. If your line is busy or outside coverage, confirm those forwarding conditions separately with your provider.

Give each request useful context

Add the services, opening hours and service-area information you want your agent to use. Check any business information collected during setup before activating calls. Clear instructions help the assistant distinguish a routine callback from a question your team needs to answer.

For example, a pet parent might ask about a groom next Tuesday in a neighborhood you serve. The useful handoff is their contact details and brief request, ready for your review. It is not a confirmed visit or a promise that your van can reach them at that time.

Follow up between appointments

The Calls page brings requests that need action together. Review what the caller wanted, use their callback number and mark the follow-up handled after you have dealt with it. Open the conversation details when you need more context; the summary is a starting point to check, not a substitute for your judgment.

Optional SMS alerts require sender approval and recipient opt-in and verification. The dashboard remains the place to review saved requests. Plan a regular time to check it rather than assuming an alert will always arrive immediately.

You decide what fits the route

A connected Google or Microsoft calendar can help the assistant check selected calendars for availability. An open calendar window does not account for every travel, pet-handling or preparation requirement. Spikey does not plan your driving route, reserve time or book an appointment.

Before confirming a visit, check the latest schedule, location, service duration and travel time yourself. If you pause AI answering, also review your carrier forwarding: pausing the assistant does not restore your usual voicemail routing.

Common questions

Do I need to change my advertised number?

You can keep your business number and forward missed calls to the dedicated number activated in Spikey. Your phone provider must support the forwarding you need. Check your plan, any forwarding fees and the conditions for unanswered, busy or unreachable calls.

Will Spikey schedule my mobile grooming visits?

No. It collects requests and can check connected calendar availability. You decide whether the location, time and service fit your route, then confirm the appointment with the customer through your normal process.

Can I use it without connecting a calendar?

Yes. Missed-call answering and callback requests do not require a calendar connection. Without one, your team can review the requested time and check availability when following up.
