For grooming salons

An AI receptionist for a busy grooming salon.

In a salon, the phone tends to ring when everyone is occupied: at morning drop-off, halfway through a bath or while someone is checking out a customer. Spikey AI can answer the calls your team does not reach, collect each caller's request and keep it in one place for whoever handles follow-up.

Let your team answer first

Keep the salon number customers already know. With conditional forwarding, the front desk phone rings as usual and only unanswered calls go on to your dedicated Spikey number. Nobody has to choose between the dryer and the phone.

Your carrier controls how long the phone rings before forwarding and whether busy-line calls forward too. Set it up with your provider, then call from a second phone at a busy time of day to hear what customers will hear.

Give it your salon's details

The assistant works from the instructions you give it. Add your services, the prices you are happy to quote, your opening hours and the policies callers ask about, such as vaccination requirements, matted coats or late pick-ups. Review anything filled in during setup before calls go live.

Leave out anything you would not want quoted as fact. If a price depends on coat condition or temperament, say so in the instructions, and the assistant can record the question for your team instead of naming an amount.

One queue for every request

Each answered call arrives in Calls with a summary and a concrete follow-up request. Requires Action shows only the requests still open, so whoever is on the desk can work through them and mark each one handled.

Every request comes with suggested replies. Tapping one opens your own messaging app with the caller's number and the text filled in; you read it and press Send. Spikey never texts customers on your behalf.

  • An alert for each handled call by email, or by text once your number is verified.
  • Call or text the customer back from the request itself.
  • Team access on the Growth plan, so more than one person can work the queue.

Your team still confirms every booking

If you connect a Google or Microsoft calendar, the assistant can check selected calendars for open times while the caller is on the line. It cannot create, hold or change appointments.

Treat a requested time as a request. Before confirming, check the groomer, the length of the service and anything booked since the call, then confirm with the customer through your usual process.

Common questions

Will Spikey replace our front desk?

No. It answers the calls your team misses and saves each request. Your staff still answer when they can, decide what to offer and confirm appointments.

Can several people see the same requests?

Yes, on the Growth plan, which includes team access. On Starter, alerts go to the owner, who can call or text customers back from each request.

What does the assistant say when asked for a price?

It can share prices you have put in its instructions. When a price depends on the dog or the coat, or is not listed, it records the question so your team can answer during follow-up.
